We then make shares of the future revenue from this IP available to our community of investors. The capital raised furthers ongoing creative development as we license fully-developed IP to multimedia partners.
Position Overview:
As a Financial Analyst at Macguffin Co., you will be responsible for conducting thorough financial analysis and providing actionable insights that will support our IP offerings and strategic initiatives. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner. You will collaborate closely with the CFO, Investor Relations team, and other key stakeholders to ensure that financial objectives are met and that the company remains on a sustainable growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, to support business planning and decision-making.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports, including monthly financial statements, budgets, and financial projections, to the CFO and executive team.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the company's financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and analyzing data from various departments, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial modeling to assess potential returns and risks associated with new projects or initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and insights for financial analysis, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform financial planning and strategic initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s financial performance.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from the CFO and other stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; relevant certifications (CFA, CPA, etc.) are a plus.
- 5-7 years proven experience as a financial analyst, with strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques; advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and practices, as well as experience with financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a strong desire to contribute to the success of the finance team and the organization as a whole.
