Dr. Arthur Trope was famous once — briefly, and for the wrong experiment. Now he runs a cluttered university lab on its last grant, where his research keeps failing in ways that should be impossible. Cheese vanishes from sealed containers. Instruments report readings from rooms with no instruments. His mice appear on the wrong side of walls.
His new lab assistant, Emmy, is the first to see the truth, precisely because she stops looking straight at it. The mice are doing it. Under the floorboards lives a thriving colony that has learned to exploit the physics of the lab above — tunneling, entanglement, superposition, and worse — with one absolute limit: their abilities only work while no one is watching. The moment a human eye or a camera lens lands on them, they are just mice.
Trope becomes convinced of what he cannot prove, and the proof is the trap. Publishing would make him the most celebrated scientist alive — and would get the colony confiscated, dissected, and weaponized, with his lab shut down for good measure. The greatest discovery in history is one he can never submit. So he does the only thing a scientist can do: he escalates. Every new containment system, sensor array, and “mouse-proof” vault becomes, within a week, the colony’s newest infrastructure.
Emmy, meanwhile, becomes something no scientist has a word for: a diplomat. She learns to read the colony’s squeak-notation, negotiates cheese-for-peace settlements, and quietly deletes the occasional piece of evidence — protecting the mice from the world and Trope from himself, while lying, a little, to both.
Watching all of it is the Cat. Calm, silent, and untroubled by the conventional behavior of matter, the Cat has had an unstable relationship with reality since a certain experiment involving a certain box. It appears where it shouldn’t, vanishes when it should be present — and it is the only creature whose gaze does not collapse the mice, which makes it the one predator they cannot hide from. Only Emmy can treat it like an ordinary cat. It may or may not be one.
Beneath the lab, colony politics are shifting. Five specialist mice run the “experiments”: cautious Prof. Paws, engineer Cheese Volta, unresolvable Doc. Superpose, misdirection artist Slitty McSplit, and the irrepressible Dr. Eureka. But the colony’s ledgers — its cheese economy, its favors, its secrets — are kept by Maxwell: a patient, tidy, brilliant mouse who has concluded that hiding is humiliation. Why fear observation, Maxwell asks, when you can abolish it? He is building the Unwatcher: a device to make the colony — then the lab, then who knows — permanently unobservable.
The season escalates through an arms race of experiments and heists; a near-catastrophic midpoint when Trope finally captures proof on camera and Emmy chooses to erase it; and the arrival of Ms. Verity Cross, a grant auditor whose clipboard could end everything. It culminates when Maxwell throws the switch. Unobserved reality begins to spread: probabilities stop resolving, objects go indefinite, and the lab — then the block — starts to blur.
Scientist, assistant, mice, and Cat are forced into an unlikely alliance, and the season’s quiet pattern snaps into focus: the Cat has appeared just before every disaster all year because it has been choosing the safe outcome each time — collapsing catastrophes before they happen. In the finale, the one observer that cannot itself be unobserved walks into the Unwatcher’s field, looks at the world, and puts it back.
Reality is restored. The truce holds — mostly. Trope publishes one small, true, career-saving result (not that one). Maxwell escapes into the walls. The mice keep one impossible device. And Emmy keeps everyone’s secrets, including the Cat’s — if she knows it. The next experiment is already underway.

Proposed Terms of the Offering
The summary below highlights current proposed terms of the Offering. Terms are subject to change and will be set forth the offering statement.
Type of Security: Revenue Share. (How it works: Basically, your investment is a loan which we pay back to you over time from the revenue generated by the franchise, until we return to you the entire amount, multiplied by the Payment Multiple.)
Min. Investment Amount: $50 (increments of $50)
Anticipated Offering Amount: $25,000 minimum / $50,000 maximum
Revenue Share %: 20% of net revenue.
Payment Multiple: 3x. For every $10 invested, we repay a total of $30 (i.e., the amount invested multiplied by the Payment Multiple). Macguffin makes annual installment payments on this amount from the Revenue %. So in this case, Investors receive $0.20 of every $1 of net revenue generated by this franchise during the year, until the full $30 is returned.
Payment Deadline/Maturity Date: None
Use of Proceeds: Macguffin Co. will deploy proceeds toward the implementation of the initial phases of a multimedia franchise development strategy. Initial plans are outlined below, but subject change prior to Offering launch.

When you invest in a character franchise with Macguffin Co, you’re investing in a share of the future royalties generated by the licensing of the intellectual property, at the terms detailed in the Prospectus for each franchise.
